Hi, does anyone know how to reset the code 16 message on the dashboard? I spoke to the dealer's service dept and they said the code relates to brake lights not working. one of mine wasn't working. as a precaution I have replaced both rear brake lights but the code hasn't gone away. any tips or suggestions would be much appreciated?

 

Ok man. So I know it s a dead topic but here it goes: press the RST/CLR button situated on top of the turn signal lever. This should work. This is what I did on my late 2011 Aveo and the codes where gone. I pressed The rst/CLR button even before changing my bad light bulb and the Code disappeared. Pay attention to lightly press the button otherwise if you press it and hold it for 2, 3 sec it will reset your cars average consump, remaining km with gasoline or trip time depending on which one of these infos is selected. Also I think that this is written in the owners manual on how to clear codes so go and take an eye.. All the best
