Hello,
Our 2015 Sonic LTZ suddenly wouldn't start one day. Had to jump start the car.
Noticed that day that passenger side headlamp is out.

The next day, car started fine and is running okay. But in the evening the "Malfunction Indicator Lamp" has lit up while driving.

Got the car under Chevy CPO Program, bumper-to-bumper warranty has now expired, but we do have the following (from the website)
Emission Select State Component Ltd Wty
Emission Select Component Ltd Wty
Certified Pre-Owned Powertrain LTd Wty and a
Special Coverage

Should I take it to the dealer and get them to look at it under warranty?

If you have a warranty that will cover it, then you should use it. Depending what the problem is you may not be covered. You might want to take it somewhere to have the code read. Most auto parts stores will do it for free.

 

I was trying to find out if this would be covered. if yes, then would go to dealer, if not, then would go to local shop.

Couldn't get any shops in my area to read the code and provide information.

Autozone and Advance Auto do it for free.

 

The Adv Auto in my area told me that they don't have the ability to do so anymore.
AutoZone was closed for some reason.

Dealer is open today. So am going there now..
