Default 2016 Sonic 12V power from dome light

I would like to get 12v power (that is only hot when ign is on) from the dome light. Couple questions. Is this possible? How do I gain access to back side of dome light panel? I don't want to simply pull hard as I think I might damage the headliner.

Ideally I could tap into 12 v interior light circuit that is only on when ign switch in on and run wire to radar detector that I can mount up high

I have a 2015 Sonic . When I installed aftermarket cruise control , I needed a hot .

Best I remember , the fuse box I uses is on the driver's side .

Couple of ways to pick up power , there . What I did was to find a " socket " on the fuse box that was labeled for an accessory my car did not have . Uses a meter to verify one side of the " socket " had 12 VDC positive .

Bought a fuse of appropriate amperage raring . Stripped about 1/2" of insulation from the wire I was wanting to supply power too . Wedged the wire in with the blade of the fuse that was the " load side " , when I inserted the fuse into the socket .

I could have also used one of these adapters .

I do not know if the dome lite comes from that fuse box . There may be other fuse boxes located elsewhere in the car ?

Thanks for reply. I have no problem getting 12V power from fuse box. Am hoping someone knows if there is 12v hot with ignition switch on up in roof pannel near dome light. I really don't want to go tearing the soft liner apart with potential damage if there is no 12v hot available up there.
