Is this engine that bad?! I would say change the filter every 4 month if it is. You should check the condition of the oil every other fuel up, maybe even use Royal Purple instead(it is better). The biggest thing: Do Not Use Paper Filters. To save money, use a NAPA gold(same as all the other "good" ones). Good Luck,
I would stay with the GM Oil Filters...
I run Mobil-1 Gold Cap in my Sonic, runs great.
4 qts 5w-30, 1 qt 5w-20.
I think the 1qt 5w-20 helps with break-in, cold weather, keeps the
5w-30 in better condition.
