Looking at 08 Aveo
Been awhile since I've logged into this forum, but I'm currently looking at buying a new Aveo. But I'm having a hard time finding information on the 08 engines, one site I read said that the Sedan had an updated engine, and the hatch would be receiving that engine for the 09 model year (along with a front end refresh, and the same updated interior that the 08 sedan has)
Is this true? I'm leaning toward the hatch just because it seems to have a little more storage space, but if the sedan is that much better (new engine, nicer interior) I might skip the hatch and just go that route.
But aside from that, have the reliability issues that I've read about (mainly on 04 models) been resolved? or partially resolved? I don't mind the timing belt issue, since it's kind of a wear and tear issue, and I've learned to keep my eye on timing belt wear (had one fail on me in an old Plymouth Sundance, non interference engine though, so it was an easy job)
Looking to replace my current ride, a 94 Escort, before late June since I will be driving across the country to a wedding at the end of July.

RE: Looking at 08 Aveo
I had an 07 aveo lt sedan. It was a great car.I got rid of it after only 5000 miles simply because it didnt serve my needs of hauling(i now own a 03 s-10 zr5).Ienjoyed the Aveo. The only thing i didint like was that when you slow down to make a turn there seems to be a delay in steering.Felt like i almost stopped when turning, but ive driven a few other compact cars and found that many of them have that delay.Over all,id recommend the sedan....theres more room then you would think, especially in the trunk.

I love my new ride! I get almost 40mpg and its so economical. I go to school and only have to fill up once every two weeks. Its a car I suggest if you want good gas mileage.
