Need help with dashboard lites PLZ !
Hello need help.... All I can get. 2007Aveo LT. Had an alternator and battery changeout. Since that time been chasing electrical problems, including running lites not working right side. I got past that but cant get console lites. All fuses are good. My car does not have a splice block in the underhood fuse box. I pulled the dimmer switch today, ground was good. The 2 brn/white wires both had 4.4 volts. I assume one of those should be in the 12 volt range. Question is, where does the power to the dimmer come from ? I cant find a diagram.
I assume have something upstream wrong, but no idea where ......
Any help / suggestions would be most appreciated ...... Thanks .....

Well, bottom line, I spent waaaaayyyy too much time trying to find a break in the wiring or wherever the power was dropping to the dash lites. I did not have the splice pack in the underhood fuse box that so many on the forums have mentioned. This was an 07 Aveo notchback. No fuses out. Could not get more than 4 volts to the dimmer swich ( which i had replaced). Finally I decided screw it. I ran a wire from the underhood fuse box - the power line leaving the RH/PK fuse - direct to the inlet power line on the dimmer. Voila ! So i did not fix it, just went around it. Anyway, after 3 months and having 3 different car repair places look at it - plus about 20 hours of my own time, I have dash lites. Thanks to WYR for your input.
