Default RE: Program Remote Keyless Entry

These instructions unfortunately don't work for the Aveo because the car doesn't have an unlock/lock button. Has anyone found the proper procedure for an Aveo? (2004 in my case).

1. Close all vehicle doors.
2. Insert the key into the ignition.
3. Hold down the power UNLOCK button on the driver’s door panel-continue to hold down until instructed to release.
4. Perform steps 5 through 8 in fairly rapid succession.
5. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (as far as you can go without starting the engine).
6. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
7. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
8. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
9. Release the power unlock button on the door panel. The vehicle will lock and unlock the doors automatically.
10. Hold down the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the transmitter simultaneously until the door locks and unlocks. This step may take up to 30 seconds.
11. Repeat the previous step for each additional transmitter (including any existing transmitters).
Hi,

I have been trying to program two remotes using this procedure. I get the first one programed just fine and it works, then I do the second one and it works fine but then the forst one does not work at all.

Any suggestions on what the issue is?

The van procedure worked great for me except that it HAD to be the driver's door that I opened. It wouldn't work with the passenger door.
To the guy that keeps losing one remote when he programs the other: program both remotes one after the other. DO NOT repeat the whole procedure with the key and the door.

Procedure works very well here. I only did the seven steps, turned back to the CAC in an article, then open the driver's door to close the door and press the two buttons on the transmitter 2 and a confirmation of the bell 14 seconds expired. So instead of starting the course, I have only 2 button on the transmitter 2 and the confirmation of two reacive chime in 14 seconds.

Default Do it yourself programing pass code key 3 for 2002 oldsmobile silloette

Hey,

I lost the keys for a 2002 oldsmobile silloette mini van I just bought and had no spare. I called they said I would have to tow the van in and have them get a code from GM then make a key then program it to work. this would of costed $85, $100 for code, $75 key me then another $75 to program for a total of $335.00 or so. This is ridiculas and not all nessasary. I took tittle down to dealer and had them get code, I talk them down for code $75.00 and they made a key for $25.00 and I looked online and talk to locksmith he said this and it worked programed it myself save alot and alot less hassle. $100.00 spent

programing instructions for Passkey 3 2002 Oldsmobile Silloette
first turn key to on leave on for ten minutes then turn off, turn back on for ten minutes then turn off, turn on for ten minutes and turn off after that your key has been programed. the van started right up!

why couldnt dealer tell you this? do they know the hassle it is to loose key in first place, the time you put into looking hours and hours not giving up because of the expence plus your remote keyless entry was with it. I spent a week looking every where and now have to tow and pay that. thats wrong and not good customer service and care.

Default 2000 Pontiac Montana won't program

The battery went dead in my 2000 Montana and after replacing the Key Fob's would no longer work.
The Manual says I simply have to hold down the Lock & unlock for 7 secs and they will resync.
That didn't work and I tried going into BCM programming Mode and that also didn't work.
Followed all the instruction in this topic and nothing works.
My Montana also has a GM Model VSC 3100 security System dealer installed. The manual for that says to sync that just press Lock several times.
Anyone have any Idea how to get the keyless Fobs working again?
