Remote Start Aveo
Hello everyone,
I am very new to this forum and hope I can find answers to my Chevy burning questions. I am currently driving a Chevy Aveo 2008 LS Sedan (Automatic) and I am currently looking into acquiring a Remote Starter for my car. Now, I did go to my favorite garage here in town and they said GM does offer a remote start, but does not recommend it as it would literally damage the Catalytic Converter over time. I did some research on Remote Starters and actual damages to a car, but no where near I have seen any report regarding a damaged Catalytic Converter. I mean, I have even seen a post where a Chevy Aveo 08 has almost 150k of miles behind with a remote starter and didn't have any problems.
Now my question for the ones who could help me, is this an actual true story about the Catalytic Converter? I do would love a remote starter in my car. Appreciate any help!
PS: If anyone can actually recommend a starter to me that would be appreciated as well!
