Default Timing belt

The owners manual for my 2010 Aveo shows that the timing belt needs to be changed at 160,000 km/ 100,000 miles. (Page 7-7) This seems to be contrary to the 60,000 mile interval I have found in other sources (such as GM's own web site). Can anyone shed any light on this?

I did check through the owners manual for your vehicle and saw the 100,000 mile change interval. What you may want to do is speak with your dealership to see what they recommend for the change interval. I hope that helps you.

I plan on doing that, thank you. The manual also says that spark plugs are supposed to be changed at 25,000 miles. I have no problems doing that however 100,000 miles for spark plug changes has been the norm for years. I'm just confused a little, this car is my first Chevrolet in 30 years.
