Default Front Brake Sticking

My Daughter has a 2015 Spark. She has had the right front brake stick on while driving. It seems to be random and we have not been able to determine a pattern. I took the car to the Dealer and being there several weeks, they could not seem to find an issue even with several hours of labor charges for diagnostics and driving the car. They say no codes have come up. Their next step was to replace the right front caliper. I elected not to have them do it because the price seemed high especially after spending several hundred dollars with no real answer.

Backing up a bit. When the car starts to act up, the right front brake seems to apply itself and also seems to get tighter the more you drive it. I suspect due to heat and expansion, but I'm not sure. A couple of times my daughter called me and said it is stuck and wouldn't move. I told her not to touch it and I would come down and look. I opened up the hood to see if I could determine anything and heard a click that sounded like a solenoid and the brakes released. The car was off and not key was in the ignition. After this release, it drove fine for many miles and after several days started acting up again. That's when I took it into the dealer.

So, I replaced the both front calipers thinking that maybe the slide mechanism was hanging up. I also replaced the rotors and the pads and the right front soft brake line going into the caliper. I figured the rotors had been overheated so best to replace it all. I thought this fixed the issue, but it has continued. It has done the stuck on and click like a solenoid and then free wheel another time with the new front components.

Again, this is random and I have not yet found a pattern or a trigger. It could go several days or weeks without an issue, then the issue will occur often and then stop for a while.

I also replaced the brake fluid when I replaced the front components although the fluid seemed fine. The dealer says if it was the antilock module that it would throw a code. Is that correct? Seems logical that it would but what if it doesn't. I was thinking possibly not the master cylinder since it was only the right front at least every time I had the issue happen to me and not front or rear brakes together. So thinking perhaps the antilock brake module. Could it be a computer or wheel speed sensor? I have also tried turning off traction control and stability control to see if that made a difference and it did not. When this problem occurs, I do not see any indication on the dash as far as warning lights or indicators.

Any thoughts or ideas are appreciated. Thank you, Jim
