Default Nerf Bar/Step Bar question

Does installing nerf or step bars cause problems when going off road? My truck isn't lifted, but the little ones still have trouble getting in and out. I just didn't want it to cause problems when traveling on uneven terrain. Thanks for any and all input.

Default bar's

any thing you add that ext end's outward or down can increase the chance of high centering on rock or tree's if you are dealing with a low truck going off road ! if the terrain is rough you might need A rock crawler .best not get in a situation like that .
