I live in a very remote area of Northeastern Nevada and I just bought a 1993 Suburban K1500 4x4. This truck had been parked for about 3 years through all sorts of inclement weather, etc. Surprisingly enough, the body is straight, no rust, paint is still shiny, the interior is in poor shape, the engine started up after about 6 turns (incredible!!!), trans axle is probably OK but not sure, the tranny is shot - sound like a bunch of marbles inside a washing machine. I was aware of this; it shifted from 1st to 2nd only, reverse was OK, until I engaged the trans axle into 4 wheel drive high. Then all went to hell!!

Basically, the tranny gave up altogether probably due to the additional stress of 4 wheel drive. Oh, well... .

It has 199K miles but the engine is strong, starts right up, does not miss, etc., needs TLC though. I plan on restoring it to its glory.

What I wanted to know if any one of you guys have a tranny for this Suburban. I believe that it is a 4L60E (Opt. M30), with OD.

I live near Mt. Home, ID and I am willing to travel to pick up. Preferably with low miles but it must definitely work, and reasonable in price.

Any other suggestions: Rebuilt? Close to where I live and reliable rebuilder.
Super tight budget.
