Alright just like to know as much as I can about what I purchased a little while back.
1996 K2500 7.4 with a reman motor 3-4K back.

Didn't plane on getting another vehicle but couldn't pass it up after I did some research on it.
Had lots of smaller things he didn't care about, lights mostly out inside, carpet was filthy ect.
But mechanically it was all rebuilt or replaced minus a steering box I'm installing shortly.

1. Why is it called a K2500 when it has 1 ton leafs & axles under it?
Thought 1500 was half ton? and 2500 always was for 3/4 ton? Did that change sometime?

2. Frame difference between 1500 & 2500?
Ive heard that their is a vast difference in frame strength?

Any other tips? Neat info anyone has is appreciated! Thanks!

Also a question, looking to replace my drivers seat due to part of the frame being broken.

I found one on Craigslist but its the wrong upholstery, can I pull off the other from my original seat and slip it on like a glove?
I know on my ford I can.
