Default 01 burban keeps burning up fuel pumps

Over the past year my truck is now on its 3rd pump. I cleaned out the gas tank during the first pump change. The last pump lasted 5 months and went dead. I am bewildered as to why this is happening. There was over a 1/4 of fuel in the tank when the last one failed. Any suggestions?

you need to dx the pump and see if its the pump or motor going out.

keep the tank at least half full, especially in summer. Helps keep the pump cooler.

Are you using OE pumps or e-bay stuff. I replaced one in a S-10 blazer with one from e-bay and it lasted about a year. Just saying.

I was going to mention that also. In the diesel world the ebay special pumps and the like are not last long at all.

Its a OEM Delphi pump with the updated connector. I can't DX the pump because then my warranty is viod. The truck died on me a couple miles from home last week, had it towed. Dropped the tank and plugged in a test light and there was power and ground to the pump. At that point I called my parts store and had them warranty the faulty pump. The temps here when it went were in the 40's and I had 3/8's of a tank. So this problem is really bothering me as to why it keeps burning up pumps.
