Default '02 Burb Transfer case replacement?

Hello all my first post here at the Chevy Forum. I have been a long time member of the Cadi forum. I have a 2002 Burban LT with auto ride. I recently noticed a leak from the transfer case. Not sure what the part is called, but there is a round black plastic part that is screwed into the case, next to the fill plug, had a bad O ring. When I drained the case there was some metal shavings stuck to the plug. I replaced the O ring and refilled the case with Autotrac II. Now when the 4wd is engaged there is a humming/moaning sound coming from the T Case. Just wanted to know if I now need to replace the whole case or if there are bearings or other parts in the case that I could replace myself. I can't seem to find a part number on the case either. Any help would be greatly apprieciated. I have recently become a broke college student and am hoping that I don't have to buy a $1000 transfer case.

What is Autotrac II?
My transfer case calls for Dextron II transmission fluid.

My suburban has the four button 4wd arrangement w/ Auto 4WD. I was told that it requires GM's Autotrac II transfer case fluid.

That's great as long as you checked. I found it listed in my owners manual.
