'02 Tahoe Battery Drain
I've searched all over the internet concerning GM battery drains, and have checked the power seat switches, rear AC, even went to the trouble of buying an good quality amp gauge, disconnecting the battery cable and putting it in-line, and started pulling fuses. Problem is at the time there is no drain other than what it takes to keep the radio and computer energized - not enough to drain the battery. The diodes in the alternator all check out, too. It takes 2 days for it to drain. If you start the car every day, no problem. Had to have the fuel pump replaced a few weeks ago, and had the shop check it out. He seemed to think it might be the radio, but it doesn't seem to draw enough to kill the battery.
Here's the weird part - A few weeks ago I went to the garage, hit the electric garage door opener, and pushed the unlock button for my pickup, and when I walked into the garage I noticed the interior lights of the Tahoe were on. I thought maybe a door was ajar, but no. The wife said she has the interior lights turned off anyway.
Well, it happened again yesterday. She went to visit her sister, and when she came out of the house to get something out of the car, the interior lights were on. She didn't have the remote with her at the time, and the interior light override was activated.
If you override the interior lights, they don't come on when a door is open. They DO, however, come on when you hit the remote lock or unlock. I'm guessing that's the problem. It has to be a separate relay to bypass the override button, so where or what is it? Has anyone else ever had this happen?
Thanks

I have absolutely no idea what the problem is, so, I'm just thinking out loud...
When you/wife found the Interior lights on, where the doors unlocked as well? You might pull the Battery(s) on the Remote(s), and see what that does.
Also, if the Fuses are marked well, or you have a diagram, you might selectively remove one/some, and see if you can further isolate it that way.
Best of luck...

Is it a factory remote or aftermarket?
Aftermarket could be tied into the wire harness incorrectly or has shorted or as you stated a relay is stuck somewhere...
Do you or have you installed any aftermarket hardware that required power, if so check those points to make sure something is not back feeding the system and making the lights come on..
