Default 02 Tahoe won't crank

Hello all. Please help if you have the time.
Just had the transmission rebuilt in my 02 Tahoe.
While at the tranny shop, passlock reset had to be done.
Picked up today and shut off and started numerous times without any trouble.
Went out a little while ago to run to the store and it won't crank.
No security light blinking this time.
All electrical works, interior lights, headlamps, radio, etc.
The only think I did notice is the battery light blinks once, never noticed before, but never had any trouble before.

Just to add: never had passlock problem before, this is the first time it happened. Other than this, no problems ever with the truck.
Possibly a transmission neutral switch? anyone know if this gets replaced/disconnected or adjusted when tranny is rebuilt?
Any ideas?
Thank you in advance for any advice.
I am in a tight spot here. my wife is going through chemotherapy now, really need to diagnose this thing. thanks...

Had my Tahoe towed to repair shop today after numerous attempts to start this morning to no avail. When it got there, started right up. all day. no codes at all.
picked it up, drove it home, turned it off and started it numerous times in the driveway. no problems.
went out 1/2 hour later, same thing. wont crank???
any ideas?

The neutral safety switch would be the first place I'd look since the tranny has been in and out. May just need adjusting or maybe replacing.

Have you tried holding the key in the start position while moving the shifter thru the gears?

Mechanic Looked at the switch and I tried going through the gears to no avail.
Same situation today. Towed to shop, started right up. I went down and drove it a while and duplicated my actions, shut off and on when I got back, let it sit for a while. Started.
Leaving it there over the long weekend. I hope it doesnt start now so if can be diagnosed.
Crazy wierd.

anyone? any ideas?

something else that may be pertinent. when turning right, the power steering squeals a bit, and a little more difficult to turn.ande sometimes steering feels odd. no other way to describe it.
Possible it could be the EVO/passlock module?
would that act up intermittently with out security light coming on?
just tossing stuff out there. This is driving me nuts. Just trying to get a different perspective for my uncle who is the mechanic that will be trying to diagnose this mess.

A shot in the dark here but does it have an inclinometer?(as part of an alarm system factory or otherwise)
Is your driveway flat or sloped?

not a shot in the dark. My driveway is flat, but I do go up a side road up a pretty steep slope less than 1/4 mile from my house. not sure if the factory anti theft has that or not.
thanks for the input.

Still the same issue. It started right up after the long holiday weekend at the shop.
Guaranteed if I bring it back home it won't start in the morning and I really don't want to be paying for a tow every other day.
any ideas where to start?
