Default 03 Tahoe Air problem

Just got my Tahoe back from the body shop as we got hit by a 60mph TrailBlazer that my wife pulled out in front of. WEEEE.

Anyway, It got hit in the passenger side rear fender. Started it and brought it home today and when I am sitting idle, the compressor wants to kick on and almost stalls the car out. It does not come on until the car is moving steady. It tries over and over to kick on when sitting still and it seems that the car is going to die everytime. Again, when I am moving it is fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

I had the same problem one day on my 02 tahoe, when I replaced the battery. I drove for about 20 minutes and shut the truck off for 5 minutes and started it again, it hasn't done it since. I know this doesn't help you but maybe has something to do with charging system?

Had similar situation happen to my '01 Tahoe other than it was caused by an accident, anyway, I took the battery hot side loose and left for about 5 minutes or so ( had a beer). Put back on and never had the problem again. The key is the beer....

I did try disconnecting but I did not try the beer part.

Called the dealer and they said they had to disconnect the rear AC so they are gonna take a look at it tomorrow.

Thanks for the replies.

I'm gonna have that beer now.
