Default '04 Pass side floor wet

Had the truck since new. Not the AC leaking inside. Not driven for a week and a Texas Gulf coast "frog strangler rain" made the carpet very wet. Checked many things and decided to remove the cowl vent cover. Soon as I lifted it off I saw a gasket underneath out of place and partly missing. My thinking is that in only a heavy rain the broken gasket lets far too much water go down inside the cowl chamber and it can't drain out from either side fast enough. I also took off the cover shown in the left side of the pic since it wasn't very tight anyway to have a look see. The raised area inside with a screen to protect the air going inside for the ac and heater looked fine and was clean. Time will tell if this was the right fix or not. I think the gasket was never in place on the assy line process. Thanks. *BW*
