Default 05 Tahoe 4L60E transmission issues. please help

i own a 05 Tahoe, 2wd, 4.8L with the 4L60E tranny. the other day while getting up to speed getting on the freeway it wouldnt shift from 3rd to 4th. i had to drive for 2 miles around 5k rpm trying not to be too slow for merging as the speed limit is 75 there. i parked it and had a friend tow it to his place. 2 days later i was trying to show him what it was doing and now when it shifts from 2nd-3rd its like it shifts out of 2nd but not into 3rd and the rpm just jump up but no power. i have never had any trouble or signs of problems at any point before these 2 things happened. fluid seems to be ok level and is still amber or redish in color. while looking around i did notice a hose hanging at the end of the tranny headed towards the rear that wasnt there before. i cant tell where it comes from oir where it goes or is supposed to go but i know it wasnt there last time i was under my tahoe. please help with any thoughts or advice as i cant afford a new tranny right now and need my vehicle to get work.

Hi

Sorry to report that I had the same issue with my 2006. Turns out the 3rd and 4th gear clutch packs were bad. I had to get a new (rebuilt) trans.

it's possibly could be that the fluid and filter needs changing ! the filter could be starting to clog up ! the hose, I have no idea where it came from but try changing the fluid and filter first !
