Exclamation 06 Suburban Z71 Remote Start/Key Question

This is my first post, so please be kind.

I purchased a used 06 Suburban Z71 and was given only a generic key fob and key. One key, one really used fob. The vehicle has a remote start system as well, but they did not give me the fob for that, all they had was the beat up fob and key. Which I feel is a replacement to the original.

Did this model come with factory remote start? Did this model come with a chip key? I just find it odd that my previous vehicle what was 4 years older, and a Ford, had a chip key....and this one does not. I do not want to pay an astronomical amount at the dealership to see if they can even figure it out. Can anyone guide me on where to locate this information on my own, because I am at a loss.

No, it did not come with factory remote start.

No, it is not a chipped key.

Get extra keys made up at Home Depot for $5, buy extra fobs off eBay for $10. Just make sure you match the FCC code and part number on the back of the fob.
