Default '06 Z71 Kicks out of Overdrive

My new 2006 Z71 Suburdan seems to kick out of overdrive quite often. Even so much as just going over an ovepass or up a gradual hill on the interstate. I have never had another vehicle kick out of OD anywhere near as often as this one. Does anyone have any thoughts on the matter? I would hate to take it in and pay an arm and a leg only to have someone tell nothing is wrong. I have a 2005 Silverado with the small V8, and the suburban kicks out of OD probably two to three times as much driving the same roads.

db, I believe that can be adjusted by reprograming the shifting through the computor. I would tell the dealer that you hate the way it shifts and have them reprogram it (mybe under warranty!?!
Good Luck, Dondobe

I appreciate the input. I drove the suburban to work today. In kicked out 11 times during the seventy mile drive. The work truck usually kick out once or twice on some of the bigger hills. Keep in mind, this is south Mississippi, not Colorado. We are not talking about climbing any mountains.

My 04 silverado has been doing the same this these past couple of months. Ever since I switched to a K&N filter, but I doubt there's any relation. Actually, it just started after the warranty expired - imagine that? So, Dondobe, you think they can probably correct this by just rechecking the shift points? The tow light comes on out of the blue, even while on the freeway, or just in a parking lot. Most of the time I think it really is going out of overdrive, some times it seems like it's just the light. I just don't want to have future tranny issues.
