Default 07 DOD question

I just wanted to know if anyone has run across a programmer for the 07 Tahoes. I wanted to know if you could change the way the computer switches form V8 to V4 modes. Basically making the computer stay in V4 mode on the highway more than it does at constant speeds with minimal loads. Then on the other hand it might get better gas milage in V8 mode at highway speeds. I live in south Florida so i don't have to deal with hills it is 100% flat. I just wanted to see if anyone else has heard of that.

it been a month since i turnd it off on my 07 im in V8 all the time gas milage looks to be the same.. V4 is for high way cruzing only if you want more V4 mode then it might be a problem cos the Tahoe is 5400lb you might end up using the gas pedal alot more just to move this thing..

Not really how to turn it off. On the highway at 70 mph it stays in V8 mode most of the time. I am trying to see if it is posible or benifical to make it go into V4 mode more than it noramlly does. It is just a thought I don't even know if V4 would be more efficient in V4 on the highway. Do the aftermarket computer programmers allow you to change the DOD settings?

I have found that if you drive in tow mode it won't shift to V8 mode nearly as much, however you have to be sensitive on the throttle.

If your only concern is better gas mileage and not towing performance etc then I would think that GM has made the best possible choices regarding the switching formula. The sole purpose of the feature is to provide the best gas mileage I think that they had that as their priority when it was developed.
