Hi. I just got my 2005 Trail Blazer LTZ (all equiped), with the V8 vortec 5.3 engine. Is there any way to know if my engine has DOD ( displacement on demand or active fuel managment) to shut of 4 cylinder in light load driving??

I'm from Mexico, and some people says that a car arrives here 2 years after it goes out in USA, so, a 2005 vehicle here is a 2003 in USA.

Maybe with te VIN number or engine number could i know is my TB has DOD?

Well, i think i finally got it. My TB has the V8 5.3, Vortec IV generation, known as LH6 engine, and it comes with the DOD from stock. In the glove box there is a list of the part numbers, and i found the engine number. nowJust compare with the specs info, and that's all.

Happy to know i have DOD, even i know it wont' mean a lot, feels better jajajaja
