Default Driver window problem

Anyone know about how long it takes for the motor of the drivers side window to go out? My window comes down easy, but going up it stalls and generally has to be left alone halfway up for a couple minutes before it will go all the way up. Or is there something else I should look into first?

Soldiermedic,

Unfortunately, I can’t determine how long it would take for your motor to go out if it is indeed on the verge of breaking. I encourage you to have your local dealership take a look at it to confirm if there is an issue with your window motor.

Thank you,
Elizabeth, Chevrolet Customer Service

I would love to, but the last time I did that, they quoted me 300 bucks as a start for a part and a job that took me 40 bucks and 25 minutes to fix...as in idler pulley.

Problem solved! I took the door apart and lubricated the wire that was attached to the pulleys and then lubricated the rail that the window was set in. took a few times going up and down to get it all lubed, but now it works like new.
