07 electronics melt down
Purchased a new 2007 Tahoe about 4 weeks ago. With 2k miles on the vehicle, suddenly the turn signal will only signal a left turn - and does so with the controller in both the left and neutral positions. Can't signal a right turn as the right position is the only position which will keep the signal off.
Dealer has had it for about a week now. First part they ordered suddenly isn't the correct part as it "doesn't correspond with the GM microphiche" on file.
Now they say they have been on the phone with GM engineering, and are going to replace one of the main onboard computers--then reprogram the entire system--on the advice of GM engineering despite the fact that "the computer we are replacing tests normally."
Service advisor states (direct quote): "With these new fly-by-wire systems, sometimes you just have to swap out part after part until things work correctly again, even if our tests say the parts are working correctly."
My confidence in the dealership and my new vehicle is melting away by the minute......

RE: 07 electronics melt down
Don't believe everything that the service advisor is saying.
The problem lies either within the BCM programming (possibly corrupt) or in rare (and I mean very rare) circumstances the BCM will check out no faults but the unit will be toast, I’d wager this isn’t the case.
It also could be a faulty multifunction lever. If they’re on the horn with Tech Assist they’ll get it sorted out.
