Default 07 radio in an 06? - madness ahead.

Hi,

I want to do something a little crazy. I want to put the radio from a 2007 Tahoe into the 2006 Tahoe.

I want to do this because the current radio in the 06 is the factory AM/FM only unit. The 07 model has AM/FM/6cd/MP3/Aux.

I can make up wiring harness adapters, matching up speaker signal to speaker signal, power to power, etc. -- but will the dealer be able to program it if I have the data signals matched up correctly?

get an aftermarket one, that will do all that and more for less $ and easier hookup.

I would have to agree, the factory one is not a high end system, (read it was built for cost not quality) and any programming will not be needed with an aftermarket...

vmarks: Welcome to the forum.

The NBS uses a data bus thru out the truck. I doubt that a new radio would work in the OBS.
