They could as saw a brand new Silverado in Bright Silver today when I dropped my off at the body shop. Wished they had it for the Tahoes.

Get them to move the shifter off the column into a center console, add leather bucket seats,install a 6.0 L with true duel exhaust, add a hardbed cover and you got a nice muscle truck. Then take it cruising on Saturday nights in Anytown USA looking for GT's and Hemi'sto smoke.

 

When introduced for production this package will offer the 6-speed auto standard, the VortecMAX 6000 as an option along with 4.10 gears, the LTZ interior with leather buckets is being considered.SS hood/roof stripes could also be optional.

The floor shifter will be a no-go.
The hard tonneau was considered via GM Accessories but nixed due to projected shipping complications.

Trying to make this look affordable for young buyers but yet appeal to a higher-end buyer as well by simply checking off a few additional options.
Just mainly wanted to see what you guys thought about the overall look and stance of the basic package from the outside.

I think this truck looks pretty stout! Definitely would by one if I did not need the room in the Tahoe.

Some suggestions:

1. Lower the vehicle 2 inches. Makes it easier for folks to get in/out and provides easier access to the bed area.

2. How about a OEM bed slide so folks can get thier stuff without climbing into the bed (I know with my bad back that's a real plus).

3. Add an option for third party (partner) to provide a low-profile bed cap with locking tailgate.

4. Think about how older folks like to take food, etc to church, get groceries, etc. In the current config, where would they put it? In the bed? (this is where that slide out bed convienence package would really help).

5. Add run flat tires.

6. Consider adding mechanical pull-out steps underneath the sides of the truck bed for short folks to access bed contents.

 

All these changes you'resuggesting don't make sense if GM is marketing this truck for "young buyers". This isn't the grocery getter/grandma & grandpa/church goingtruck.

 

I looked at a couple regular cab short beds today at the Dealership. They were plain jane but the right color and options would make an awesome truck. I was going to buy one in 03' but couldn't get nothing but the LS so I went with the ext. cab LT. If you win at the drag strip on Sunday you will sell a bunch on Monday. That's the way it was in the Muscle Car days.

IMHO, if I were young and cost concious I would not be buying a pickup truck, most young people are buying smaller cars that are fuel efficient, at least that is the trend where I live.

I would personally be looking at a 27-45 demographic becuse they would be the ones with the sedan in the driveway and a truck for the house.

As for me, I take my CLK coupe to church

Personally, I like the lowered NASCAR look and think that the Silverado SS is too large with the x-cab.

 

i cant wait to see the real thingits exactly what theRCSB line needsitll sell for sure but only if its keptunder 30-35K..

3. 2WD for sure
