Default 07 Suburan Oil Leak after oil sensor replacement

this past weekend i attempted replacing the oil pressure sensor on my burban. Took a while since i have the heat shield in the back of the engine. After driving it around i noticed that it was leaking afterwards. I suspect it coming from the actual sensor. Is the heat shield important or can it be cut away to get access to the oil pressure sensor alot easier or can it e removed. Also anyone know what kind of sealant is needed on the threads?

Heat shields are there for a reason. You can use pipe tape to seal the OPS threads.

Chevrolet wouldn't install a heat shield without a good reason. Some vehicles dont need them, likely because the GM engineers determined that there was enough distance
and air-space to keep the part, wiring or device from becoming overheated.
