07 Suburban: aftermarket radio/cd/dvd unit causing issues with rear air and RES
We bought a 07 suburban that recently had an aftermarket radio/cd/mp3/dvd unit installed in place of the original OEM radio unit in the dash.
The rear air does not work and the Rear entertainment system does not work. DVDs play fine in the drop down unit, audio is fine in the Bose system.
Took it to a chevy dealer. They say that the aftermarket radio is not communicating with the amp and that the rear air/RSA need to communicate with the amp.
They suggest replacing the aftermarket radio with an OEM unit. I am not opposed to that but want to make sure that it is really necessary. I have read about the need for an "interface" unit for some situations. Is that what we are missing?
