Question '07 Suburban - How to turn off Nav/display screen AND radio?

I just picked up a '07 Suburban w/nav & rear DVD, and I'm having a heck of a time trying to figure out how to turn off that stupid blue screen clock without having the radio turn on when the screen goes off. I have been turning the volume all the way down as I want the screen off at night, but I'd rather know if there is a better way to do it to just turn the screen off without the radio popping on. Is this possible?

go to settings, screen, off, then press mute on the steering wheel.

Seriously? So no way to just shut the radio off as well as the screen? That's a stupid move by GM. I guess mute (or turn the volume **** down) is the solution.

Default GM Tech

I don't think GM's ever done anything that could remotely be considered tech...

I still love my Tesla

But, alas, it does seem to be chewing through back tires often... but that could also be the instant access to 360HP... which makes on-ramps SO much fun. Now if only I had the 750 HP AWD one... some day...
