07 suburban rear lift gate won’t work

New user and new to Chevy (been a mopar guy all my life) I’ve recently purchased an 07 Suburban since the family has unexpectedly grew. However, after about a year of owning it, the rear lift gate quit working. It makes all the noises as usual but won’t unlatch itself. I had to drill a small hole in the plastic to stick a screw driver in and push the lever to get it to open. I went ahead and replaced the rear hatch actuator assembly and that did NOT solve the problem. Still doing the same thing making all the noise but just not unlatching. I’ve checked all the fuses and the hatch itself stays open on its own once I manually open it by pressing down the lever on the actuator. Any suggestions or help would be extremely helpful. Really need it fixed as the new baby will be here in a couple weeks so I am pressed for time.

Depends. When you say "actuator" are you talking about the latching mechanism or lifting mechanism?

Note if I open in from inside on the latch switch it will open and stay open and will fully close when I hit the latch button on the liftgate

Need a full all 4-code P, U, C and B code scan of the body modules. There are sensors in the liftgate and modules controlling latch and lift motor, so you need to see what they are seeing.
My LTZ has a total of 41 scannable modules in it, full scan is step one with ANY issue.
