most dealers around here anyhow, wont touch it if its been modified in any way, We install the lifts and then will warranty it for you.....whattheissue is, is GM did not make the lift so they wont touch that, tehy did not do the install so whoever did that is on the hook for that, and ANYTHING problem related to the lift GM wont touch, at least that the policy here.....and most anything drive line related and pulling to one side **** like that, they will say it is lift related....odds are your on you own if you or someone else installs it....now for things like power windows or something THAT is not lift related then that would still be covered....but say your tranny goes, GM can say hey your running oversized tires, and its lifted so to bad so sad....they dont build trucks to run 35, and big lifts, so therefore the cause of the tranny failure is the tires and lift. so anti up 6500 bucks for a new tranny..
Odds are you wont have problems, if you drive like you say,but just giving you an idea of how the service department looksat things here...
Why are you lifting a 2wd anyhow....why not get the 4x4, just seemsweird is all.....another pavement princess......

thanks..thats what i figured anyway. well im a 20 yr old female and have no use for a 07' to go off road and tear things up when my bf has a 79 bronco mudtruck. i got a great deal on a 2wd LT2 cloth interior with 11k miles for $32k. i like the look of them lifted and the 6' lift i got for $1740 with shocks andthat wasabout the same price as the 4'.....so im not really into putting this vehicle thru things it isnt designed to do.
If you BF has the Bronco ...SLAM the Tahoe and bling it out with 24s......now THAT would like sick..halo head;ights, tinted, and supercharge it.....oh man now your talking
or have he dealer install the lift they may warranty if they do it...we will

Like Malibu said, ifyou let the GM dealerdo theinstall most of them will warranty the work as the install was done by a GM certified technician.
Yes, you can get it done for free, but what if 5,000 miles down the road your transmission just happens to slip? The $800.00 the dealer would have charged you looks very good now compared to a $6,000.00 transmission overhaul and having to worry about what is going to happen in another 5000 miles down the road from when the new transmition is installed.
Your free install may just drain your bank account down the road.
When I buy things I have a rule of thumb aboutbuying an extended warrarty, if it has any internal moving parts, it needs a warranty. With that said, see if the GM dealer will keep the warranty in effect if they do the install on the parts?
Good Luck

Ali,
If you want to to lift your Tahoe go for it, but you are right to be concerned about voiding part of your warranty. I would take the advice of the previous posters and see if your GM dealer will do the install and warranty it.

Because she can. Thats what this whole forum is about. Doing stuff to our trucks just because we like it - no rational reason needed.
