Only seen the navigator on tv! I like them.
SO shark have you taken the entire front grille section out? I would like to know how to remove the entire grille section so it is easier to cut it out. Removing it and not trying to cut it while it is on the vehicle would be a huge benefit.

No. Remember I have the same overlay grill that you are getting rid of.
From what I've read of some mfg instructions, they all recommend protecting adjacent surfaces when cutting out the grill. You're probably right about taking it out. Would make it easier. That's why I'm interested in the purpose of the tabs.

Anyone want my old grille cheap????????
I was able to get my new Grille installed, thanks to Super Dave! I have to say, i really like the grille. However, the install is a BITC*! It is a cutout grille, not an overlay. I have some pictures however they arent the best. I took them in my garage and I couldnt get very good angles or far enough away! Let me know what you think!

Dont ask, haha. No, I didnt really time it and I did some other things while working on it.
I would guess that removing the factory grille, cutting out the honey comb sections, cleaning it up, installin the new grille, and then mounting it back on the vehicle took 2-3 hours. If I were to do another one I could for sure do it in under 2 hours. I ran into several problems. Hell, I had problems before i started, I couldnt figure out how to get the factory grille out! The pictures dont do justice. Having a NON overlay looks 100% better. The overlays isnt near as appealing.

Yep, had to chop up the factory grille. Just the honey comb sections. I cut them out with a dremel too!

P.S. I love the tennis ball hanging from the ceiling in your garage. I bought a laser designed to do the same thing (The red dot is too small) and I have to say the tennis ball is much better.
