I like my Tahoe, great ride, Good looks. But the problem that has just appeared I hope is a easy one to fix. When going at speed and as you release the gas the engine would normally switch to V4 mode and coast until you press on gas again it switches to V8 mode. What it's starting to do is as I take foot off gas it stays in V8 mode and starts to noticeably decelerate speed. Not a lot but you can feel it. Any thoughts on this issue. I've looked through a lot of threads but have not seen a issue of this kind.

 

Sounds like it might be a software issue with the afm. Should have a dealer look at it. Maybe needs a reflash of the CPU

 

There a couple of things to verify, are you in "D" and not "3" and also is Tow/Haul disabled... being in 3 or Tow/Haul can keep the AFM from activating....

 

Mine will go into 4cyl in tow mode...2009

but this appears more to be an engine braking issues, which yes, is enabled in tow mode or manual shift mode.

 

AFM should not activate under tow haul? Weird, because mine does... Not that often but it does.

 

It's only deactivated if you shift to 3, mine also goes into AFM in tow haul....
