Default 07 tahoe Front ac leak

Just Looked down at my feet and my passenger floor board is soaked! The insulation and carpet all the way up to the dash is sopping wet. I know Chevys are notorious for this but I need to fix this quick. I have had it since last September with no problems until this. It is not coolant, just water. The ac is still blowing cold and working properly. Why the f@$k has chevy not fixed the problem with this yet. We can control our house lights with an iphone but they cant fix a leak! What should I try or do first? Thanks for the help.

find the drain and unplug it... sounds like something got in the drip tube or something.

Where is the drip tube. I know that it drips behind the front tire but where is do you blow it out from?

Having the same problem with my 07 Tahoe, do I have to take it to a dealer to get this fix, and if so does anyone know how much? I would rather do it myself if anyone could get some step by step instructions.

Should be on the bottom of the evaporator case. Usually gets plugged w/ dust and debris that gets sucked in. Most makes w/ A/C do this sooner or later, especially if in a dusty environment.

There is some white insulation under the carpet and then another layer of insulation under the white. That second layer of insulation is wet as far up the firewall as I can squeeze my arm. Where is the evaporator case? And how big is this drain tube? the size of a pencil or screwdriver handle? Is there any reason to dig into the dash? About a week ago I found about a half inch piece of rubber hose chewed up under the tahoe. It appeared to be a 90 degree angle piece of rather thin rubber and about 3" long. It is off of the passenger side firewall. Is that the drain and if so would it matter if that hose was chewed off. There is still some of the hose coming out of the firewall. Damn rats!

I'd say that you've found the problem. Just need to replace that tube so it takes the water back outside.

73shark, The rats chewed through the rubber hose and through some of the plastic hose as well on the firewall side. I pulled the insulation out of the floorboard and saw the water leaking immediately. It is leaking from the low point of the lower black cover. The main big cover that is riveted to the top cover with plastic rivets behind the glove box. The tube that goes through the firewall seems to be part of the lower cover. You can't see the drain tube, just approximately a baseball size cylindrical shaped black plastic piece(part of the lower cover) connecting to the firewall. Does this mean that I have to change the lower cover? And if so, How do I go about doing that. Does the whole dash have to come out? I have some pictures if that will help.

New problem. My wife just took it down the road and the ac worked fine. She parked it for a while and then came back home and she said that the little snow flake symbol went off and the ac stopped blowing cold. She pushed the button to turn it back on and it just blinked twice and would not come on. Any suggestions?

I just unplugged every HVAC fuse(one inside and four under the hood) and left them for about a minute and then plugged them back in. Started the tahoe and everything seems to be normal. Any idea what might be causing this on top of the leak stuff? I know I'm all over the place with these issues so thanks for the input!
