Since the gas cap is so easy to get to - is anyone using a locking gas cap? I have tried to use one on another vehicle in the past and had vacuum problems as well as engine check lights. Any info is appreciated.

I would much rather have my gas cap open the way it is, then have some assclown pry it open with a screwdriver.

I don't think a locking gas cap would make a difference, but with todays cars, I guess yull never know?

 

i dunno. i guess if someone REALLY wants to get in your gas tank, a locking door won't stop them. most likely because they have a personal grudge with you. but i think it would be an effective deterrent for parking-lot bandits who have a choice between your tahoe and car parked next to it. or those neighborhood kids who think they're pretty funny by committing random acts of stupidity and pouring sugar in your gas tank. (which engine-ruinning effects are completely false).
i'm thinking about a locking door for my tahoe too. i just wish they came with remote "pop".
