Default 07 Tahoe LTZ vs O7 Escalade

Hello,

I need some help, I have been going back and forth forever between 2007 Tahoe LTZ and the 2007 Escalade.

I like the looks of the outside of the tahoe quite a bit more than the escalade but I like the toys of the escalade ( bigger nav, cooled seats, etc.)

Near as i can tell from KBB and searching on cars.com there doesn't appear to be a huge difference in price, maybe 3k or 4k.

Can somebody tell me what I will be giving up by going with the tahoe. I know i will get the 5.3 instead of the 6.2L but I could actually care less. Mainly what i am interested in is what toys/ features that i am giving up. The tahoe still has heated leather seats correct?

I suppose basically what i am asking is if I can get the escalade for just 4 or 5k more is that the smart way to go? Although if i go with the escalade i will definitely have to paint/ remove a lot of the chrome ( i hate it being that flashy)

I guess i am leaning toward the escalade i just don't want to throw money away if the features aren't there to support it.

Also I have noticed in the past 6 months that the prices of both have gone up, i suppose because everybody is scared of buying new. What do you think the chances of the prices dropping again are in the next 6 to 8 months. Right now it looks like both are going for between 30k and 35k i would like to be able to get one for under 25k if i could. I don't mind waiting a little while if there is a chance.

Sorry for the rambling. I appreciate your time and help.

Thanks.

I know what you are going through, I had the same decision to make back in 2007.
I ended up picking the LTZ. The deal breaker for me was that the Escalade has All Wheel Drive and the Tahoe has Four Wheel Drive. That difference is important to me as I need the "Low range" transfer case that only four wheel drive provides to be able to drive out on a barrier beach with extremely soft sand here on Cape Cod. Mostly to get away from the crowed tourist beaches.
The low range transfer case is essential to not getting stuck out there. A good rule of thumb a mechanic told me once is that all wheel drive is best in snow where you don't want too much torque (or you'll dig in) and four wheel drive is best in soft sand where torque is needed. Good luck deciding and don't forget to look at the Yukon Denali with all wheel drive.

Esky has HID headlites, better sound system (according to them), power tilt wheel, and available are cooled front seats, heated steering wheel, auto brights, and side blind zone alert. Not sure the last one was available in '07 tho.

Default insurance

The decision was made for me when I called my insurance guy for a quote.

the Tahoe would add $100/month to my insurance

the Escalade $300 / month...

your right about them being similar in price used; but check the insurance $$$

I'd rather have the AWD, but whatever. and the 8" GPS would be nice...

I like the inside and out of the tahoe more...

I want the 6.2L, 8" sat nav, and AWD, even though all my stupid friends though I wanted the bling...

As much as I hate to say it.... If money isnt an issue (like it is for me) then buy the escalade.

I have had two of the new body 2007 Tahoes and one of the new body 2007 Escalades. One Tahoe was a loaded LTZ and the Escalade was loaded also, about 70k sticker. The escalade to me seemed quieter inside, smoother riding, 6.2L is a beast, the cooled seats are worth the price difference in itself (I cant stand my panties sticking to my sweaty ****), I prefer 22s as opposed to 20s. Hmm, what else did I like? I dont recall all the features and factors but I like the Escalade hands down. The fact it is an Escalade and you dont see them every other vehicle on the road is a factor also. The "Escalade" prestige.

My wife and I go through cars like no other. Out of "who knows" how many vehicles the only vehicle I have sold and my wife later said I wish we still had it was the Escalade. As I said, if money isnt an issue go for the Escalade. For those of us that money matters then go with the Tahoe. They are both nice, but a few little things on the Escalade make it a lot nicer. Love the Blue Instrument Cluster needles that bounce when started. The Roar in the garage when started, the nicer woodgrain..... I gotta stop I am missing it even more now.

WHATS UP SHARK?

Welcome back biglg. It's been awhile. Did you notice your promotion? Will be a little extra in your check this month.

Still got your H P? Didn't want to embarrass you by spelling out.

As I was driving to the lake this weekend, I realized that it wasn't a HP but a HR that you got.

So what are you driving now?
