Default 07 Tahoe Radio Antenna

Someone cut the end off of the radio antenna in my 07 tahoe, they tried to tape it back together wiring the braided and the soild core copper of the coax seperately but it still will not pickup radio signals. The antenna cable runs to the righthand side of the truck above the glovebox but i havent traced it anyfurther. Does anyone knoe if it is coupled somewhere where i can just buy the section going to the radio or what can i do any help is needed and appreciated.

Can't tell you about the location, etc... but I can tell you that the fix is to solder the core together and then solder the braid. The solder reestablishes the proper impedance on the antenna as if the wire was never cut....

Another option is to buy a Motorola plug (the antenna connector) from Radio Shack and put it on the good end of the wire then install an extension cable to make the remainder of the length.

There is a coupling under the top dash panel near the windshield about where the passenger line-of-sight is.
You have to remove the two a-pillar trim pieces first then you can unsnap the top dash panel.
