I'M looking to buy a ball and hitch for my 07 Suburban. What I need to know is should I go with a 2" drop or another size?

 

My 07 Tahoe 4X4 seems very high. I would go with more drop than that. i borrowed a 2" drop and the trailer did not sit well.

 

What do you plan on towing? I believe to get the right drop for your hitch,you need thelevel trailers tongue height...

average rule of thumb, Some things might vary this:
top of ball should be around 18" from the ground. should keep trailer around level......

 

Center of receiver hole is 24" on mine. Ballpark from there nets you about 5-6 inch drop.

 

Hummmmmmmm, I was just on GM Parts .com and they seem to have one for sale. Its a 1-1/4" rise, 4-3/8" drop

 

sounds right to me T07. You could always go with an adjustable if you have more than one trailer and have different tongue heights.

 

I tow about 6500 lbs with the '07 Tahoe. I use a 3" drop draw bar. With approximately 650 lbs of tongue weight and some cargo in the back of the truck, the rear drops a couple of more inches. No auto-level suspension. This turns out to be the perfect height for my trailer.

 

Does anyone know about the auto-ride suspension with a weight distributing hitch? Should it be set with the vehicle off or with the vehicle on after the suspension leveled? 26' travel trailer 6500#
