Did we just buy the 2007 tahoe and now a year later it is going to be outdated by the hybrid tahoe.?


What are the differences in this vehicle other than the two-mode hybrid than what we have in our 2007 tahoes?

 

I'M glad they came out with a Hibrid and not a diesel Tahoe/Suburban, I would have really kicked myself in the *** if they did.

 

It has been know for quite some time that the '08 would offer a hybrid model....research research research.....I just got an '07 and I don't care...no other changes for '08 except for the hybrid offering which will be more $$$$$$$$....

 

DETROIT - General Motors might absorb some costs of a Two Mode hybrid transmission in its full-sized [/b]trucks to make the technology affordable to consumers, product chief Bob Lutz says.

The automaker plans to have at least three hybrid[/b] transmissions and offer as many as a dozen hybrid models in the next few years[/b]. The Two Mode system, which has two electric motors that assist the engine, would be the premium system, Lutz said.

The cost of that system is more than $10,000, sources close to the program say.

 

OK, if you think you have no cargo space now, what do you think the tahoe hibrid owners are going to say?

 

One of my co-workers is driving around an '08 Yukon Hybrid today while his truck gets worked on in the shop. I've got to say that seeing one for the first time in person, I'm not a huge fan of the new looks of the Hybrid. The tail lights seem to look more like the Tahoe's than the standard Yukon lights and the pillars above the tail lights make it look like the bat-mobile the way they are shaped like fins. I couldn't tell any difference with the interior. The sticker on this one is about $56K which includes Nav andRear Entertainment.

 

the hybrid can't tow for crap... sorry, I still need a non hybrid...

but the city MPG of the hybrid is impressive...

 

I wouldn't call a tow rating of 6,200lb (2WD) and 6,000lbs (4X4) all that shabby, it is more than 95% of Tahoe owners will ever use.
But keep in mind the towing market is not the primary consumer that this vehicle is aimed at.


The Tahoe Hybrid is intended for the consumer that has always wanted a large SUV but was too eco-mindedly self conscious to make the leap.
The build numbers for this unit will be very low as the intended market is unquestionably not all that diverse, it is more a platform to showcase GM's technology.

The Diesel Tahoe is two years away.

Geez, I thought we raised cows for the Whoppers and Big Macs and had leather seats so we didn't fill up the landfills with all of those hides.

BTW, alternative forms of energy will come when we use up all of the carbon ones.
