Default 08 Tahoe Rear Entertainment

I've just bought an 08 tahoe with rear entertainment. The remote they gave me does nothing, they say it works, I say it won't. The only way I can work the dvd is to pull over and go through the touch screen process. Is there a model or part number for the remote? I keep getting passed around by them so any help would be great.

I have the rear entertainment system in my 07 and the remote will only work from the back seats and has to have a clear view of the IR sensors located on the ceiling mounted screen.
The remote will not work from the front seats. The part number for the remote is probably on the back of the remote but any dealership should be able to provide you the part number.

I agree with the post about pointing the remote directly at the sensor. I wonder if you can take your remote to the dealer and try it on one of the Tahoes on the lot or try one of the new remotes on your Tahoe to make sure that is not the problem. I also find in funny that the remote is one price and installed is another. Install what , the batteries ?

Good luck and keep us posted on this.
