Default 09 Tahoe remote start

Just picked up a 2009 tahoe Z71 with 51k miles. I absolutely love this truck! One quick (probably stupid) question regarding the remote start. When I start the truck using the remote start and then put the key in and turn to the run position, the truck turns off. I was under the impression that I could just put the key in, turn to run, then shift and go. Any help/advice would be appreciated...

Just a hunch. Had this happen with a previous vehicle (non-chevy), but my keys were mixed. My ignition key was coded to the key fob. So if I started the vehicle with key fob A, but then tried to used key B, then it would do exactly what you said.

Try swapping keys. sounds pretty lame, but it's a simple test. :-)

Thanks for the advice. Tried and that wasn't it either, but boy do I feel stupid now. While trying what you said I realized that the truck actually wasn't turning off. I would see all the warning lights come on and assume (and we know what happens when you do that) that the truck shut off and I would turn the key back and restart it. All is fine with it - just a remote start rookie error.
