Default 18" Z71 Max Tire Size w/o Lift

2007 Suburban 4WD LTZ (w/o Z71 package) with 20" OEM wheels and tires. Two questions:

1. Will the 18" Z71 OEM wheels fit?

2. What is the max tire size without requiring a lift or any trimming?

Been reading some of the other threads and it looks like 275/65-18 is about as high/wide as I can go but just wanted to be sure. What about 275/70-18? Going with BFG AT's if that makes a difference. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'll be selling the factory 20's by the way so make an offer if you're interested.

The Z71 wheels should fit w/ the OEM tires.

Don't know about bigger tires. But you can reform the wheel house liners w/ a heat gun rather than cutting.

why would you want to go from the LTZ 20s to the Z71 18s? it's a downgrade?

Hate to be Captain Obvious here but the 20's just don't seem to do very well off-road. On top of that, it doesn't look like a 4WD suburban with the 20's. Don't get me wrong...I like the way it looks now but spend a lot of time at the ranch and they're just not workin' out for me.

Ahh, so off roading then. Makes sense. I'd have picked a different vehicle for off road use, like a pickup or older Tahoe, as the 07+ seems to be more of a street 4x4...

When I got mine, I wanted the Z71 because of the off road looks + silver dash, but was having an impossible time finding one with the sat nav. So I got the LTZ... and am glad I did w/the autoride and brake controller, I love towing with it. My tahoe does not see ANY off road action, I don't even do dirt roads with it (yes it's 4x4 for snow) I have a wrangler on 35" tires for off road action

You may want to consider some skid plates as well depending on your terrain, the Tahoe isn't going to win any ground clearance competitions...

Yeah, it's only off road about 25% of the time and the terrain isn't that bad. I just like the Z71 look a little better mostly. I've had the BFG's on a number of other vehicles and have been very satisified with their performance both on and off road. Time to get new tires so I figured I might as well go with what I know does well in both categories.
