1989 chevy suburban
I have a question, I bought my 89 suburban V-1500 4x4 in may of this year. I paid $1300.00 for it. I however turned around and put another $1800.00 in new parts. The guy I bought t from said because of the modifications made to the engine like 1996 aluminum vortec heads, performer intake, modified TBI Unit, and Doug Thorley aluminum headers, that the engine alone is worth $3,500.00 I'm not a chevy buff, Dodge is usually what I run, At any rate, I was wondering if what I was told is correct?
Welcome to the forum.
While that maybe how much money he has in it, but doesn't necessarily make it worth that much. Considering you can get a crate engine from Chevy for that much with a 3 year 36,000 miles warranty, I doubt that his is worth that much.

I would have to concur...
If its worth $1800.00 and sorta runs good, and you put $30k worth of stereo equipment in it, does it now make it worth $31,800 ? would you pay that much?
Likely not...use the blue book value and prorate any mods to what you feel they are worth and are willing to pay...but in the end its really still only worth what BB says...
