I have a 95 tahoe started making a noise that sounded like tire noise on the road, yesterday. today the noise got much louder now sounds like a clunking and grinding coming from the rear of the motor, but only when i let off the gas. if i keep my foot on the gas even just a little the sound immediately stops. take my foot off and it starts again.

 

did anyone get a possible answer for this, i have the same issue on a 97 k1500.

 

I'd suggest check the U joints
