Default 1996 Suburban C1500 Mystery Vacuum Line

Hello master Burb techs! I was checking my oil today and noticed a vacuum line dangling in the wind near the firewall on the passenger's side of my 5.7L Vortec. Traced the long line back to the origin - it snaked around the front of the engine to a point on the drivers side where it was connected. Turned on the engine and noticed it was pulling a strong vacuum - could hear the sucking noise from the fitting on the disconnected end. Any idea where it belongs?

I've been having issues with my Burb surging at highway speeds. Just ordered a distributor cap and rotor today. Not sure if this vacuum line has anything to do with the problem, but I do know that it shouldn't be hanging out in space. Sorry I don't have more to go on - super amateur here. Hope the pics will help. Thanks a ton in advance!

Steve

On mine it's goes from the drivers side (like yours) to the passenger side and attaches at the firewall. Just directly above the heater hoses, under and behind the foam covered ac canister. Mine has another vacuum hose next to it on the firewall connection. Hope this helps.

Thanks BW56! So, I assume it's connected to the spot in the first photo? It's a real PITA to get to, but it's the only place I saw in that area for a vacuum line.

Would you happen to know the name or part number of that vacuum line?
