Default 1997 K1500 Front end noise

I have a noise I think in the front end while in 2wd. It sounds like wobbling/rattling. I can't tell if its from one side or the other. The front end will engage when I put it in4WD LO - 4WD high will not engage. The sound is not constant, it comes and goes. The sound is more noticable at 30-50 mph - it does not change if I change gears (OD, 3, 2 and even neutral) or turn either way. The sound does not get louder as speed increases nor does it quiet as speed decreases until you get below 20 MPH then the sound is gone. I thought itmight bethe T-case or Front Axel trying to engage partially. I removed the fuses for these items and the noise was still there. Any ideas?

Does lightly applying the brakes make it stop?

No, I've tried light pressure and heavy pressure while going straight and turning. Going over bumps or rough roads doesn't change the noise either.
