Hello, new here!

So, my Sub isn't shifting up at around 22 mph. Reverse is fine. Shifts great until I reach 22 mph (3rd gear?). Shifts down fine, as well. No leaks. No grinding, etc......I've read where this tranny will go into "limp" or "safe" mode if there's an electrical issue and where it's possible that this could be related to an ignition switch problem. Recently and when it was minus 22, I was having trouble starting it. I would turn the key and it would try to turn over. Then, I'd turn the key off and do it again. A couple of times, it made a clicking noise like when you turn the key accidentally while the car is running, but the vehicle definitely was not running. Shortly thereafter, the tranny issue started. Seems to me that I might have a faulty ignition switch, but possible solenoid or plugged filter? I had the tranny serviced at 50,000, but haven't had the fluid or filter changed since (on recommendation from a mechanic).

Ideas? It now has 160K miles on it.

start with tranny service. fluid/filter change. probably due for it. check fluid level first tho. but still have it changed.

 

Forgot to mention: fluid level was fine.
