Default 1999 Suburban axles will not go back in

I replaced the rear seals and bearings in my '99 Suburban. When I tried to put the axles back in.... they wont go. I can get them in all way to the bearing surface and the splines engage. I whacked one of the axles to... well.... help it go in, but just managed to get it stuck. Hopefully I will deal with that issue tomorrow. I also sighted down the axle tubes and all looks good. Any ideas???

Well... I got the axle back out with a porta power and pulled the axle bearing. The bearing doesn't fit on the shaft, hence the wrong bearing.
Moral to the story.... check the bearing before installation.
